Meizu Releases Teaser Confirms Secondary Display On The Pro 7

Meizu has already confirmed that the Meizu Pro 7 is the upcoming flagship smartphone from the company and will meet us on July 26 at the big event at the Opera House in China. We can say that the Pro 7 is the high-end product from the company. We already know that what makes Pro 7 Unique from other smartphones “a secondary display at the back side of the phone”.

Before today it was just a rumor that Meizu Pro 7 will feature a secondary display on the back side of the phone but now company confirms through teasers. Meizu has released a few teasers for the Pro 7 and each image highlight the secondary window display on the upcoming flagship. Teasers also confirm that the Meizu Pro 7 will have a secondary display at the back along with a dual camera setup.



According to the previous leak, the Pro 7’s secondary display will be a 2-inch E-ink screen and will support black and white mode, music mode and other. The secondary screen will be usable even after shutting down the phone.

As per previous leak or rumor, the Pro 7 features a 5.2-inch 1080p primary display with Helio X30 chipset. For photography, it has 12MP Sony IMX386 + IMX 286 dual camera setup at the back and a 16MP front camera.

An image of the Meizu Flow leaked ahead of its launch and for audiophiles who are familiar with earphones, it looks very familiar. A Twitter user @LeaksEva who had previously seen the earphones on a French retail site cdiscount.com for €599.99 tweeted that it looks like the AKG K3003i released back in 2011.

It is not unusual to see Chinese manufacturers clone the design of other popular companies.

The tech company has also released another poster revealing that it would be launching another product alongside the Pro 7. The product is named Meizu Flow which is a headset and it is teased with the powerful slogan “Feel nothing Hear everything”.

The Meizu Flow is expected to be a high-end headphone and the slogan for this teaser suggests that much. The headset may have popped up online in a recent leak, though, and is said to have a design which looks similar to AKG’s high-end product – K3003. The poster also contains the inscription – “Meizu PRO headphones” which could be an indication that it would be releasing more than one headphone.

Recently, the senior vice-president of Meizu, Jeffery Yuan had updated his Weibo profile with an image of PRO 7. This indicated that the Meizu PRO 7 may launch on the rumored date of July 26. This indicated that the Meizu PRO 7 may launch on the rumored date of July 26.

The Meizu PRO 7 is now confirmed to debut on July 26 through a launch event that will be held at the headquarters of the company in Zhuhai, China. The event will begin at 7:30 PM local time.





The word “window” in the above Weibo post probably refers to the secondary screen that is present on the rear side of the Meizu PRO 7 duo. This secondary screen can be used for seeing notifications. It can also function as a viewfinder for the camera. It can be also used for playing games. Meizu.  The 2-inch screen will also work in black and white mode and it will be usable even when the phone is turned off.

Yesterday, some images of the leaked invitations of a box with a dummy unit of the Meizu PRO 7 had surfaced. One of the images of the dummy unit of the PRO 7 contains a secondary screen with the information on the launch date and venue mentioned on it.






The Meizu PRO 7 and PRO 7 Plus are speculated to respectively feature 5.2-inch FHD and 5.7-inch QHD screens that will probably support Quad HD resolution.

Fresh details suggest that all the variants of the Meizu PRO & and PRO 7 Plus will be driven by the MediaTek Helio X30 chipset that includes a ten-core processor. Both the smartphones will be equipped with a 12-megapixel dual rear camera setup. It is speculated to include Sony IMX386 and IMX286 sensors.

The details include that there are two versions of the Pro 7, one with a secondary display and another version without a secondary display, both powered by Helio X30. The Meizu Pro 7 Plus, on the other hand, will have a secondary display and will be powered by the latest Exynos 8895 as stated earlier.

Today Meizu has finally launched the closed beta for the latest version of its Flyme OS which would be based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Android 7.0 Flyme OS closed beta is now available for the Meizu PRO and Meizu PRO 6S with more models getting support soon including the PRO 6 Plus, PRO 5, MX6, Charm Blue E, Charm Blue Max, Charm Blue Note 5, Charm Blue Note 3, and nine other models.

The closed beta brings several changes to the camera, system, connectivity, and basic settings of the Flyme OS including support for several features such as payment authorization for several services via the fingerprint sensor, among others.

We have seen a lot of renders of the Meizu Pro 7 that we already have our fill of the design and just want to have the chance to see if the hardware is as powerful as the design. Now, the latest detail says about the camera sample photo shot by the Pro 7.

The photo was shared on Weibo recently by Meizu’s new VP Jeffery Wang and he did not in any way hint at the camera with which the photo was shot. But one major tip that got us suspecting this is the Pro7’s photo is that the phone the Meizu Vice President was using was listed by Weibo as “Meizu phone”. Now, Weibo usually displays the exact smartphone or device posts were sent it from but in this case, the only thing displayed is “Meizu phone”. This could be as a result of the model not being recognized since it is a new one that is yet to be released.

The photo contains one feature that feature is a blurred background captured in a manner that suggests a dual camera setup at play. The Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus are expected to feature a 12MP Sony IMX386+ 12MP Sony IMX286 sensors at the back while there will be a 16MP front-facing selfie camera up front.

The Pro 7 is also expected to be the first smartphone to launch with MedaTek’s Deca-core Helio X30 chip and that could also contribute to the amazing shot captured.
