LG G6 Mini Launch Expected on July 11 Also Known As LG Q6

LG G6 Mini Launch Expected on July 11 Also Known As LG Q6

Earlier this week, a report suggested the LG is planning to launch a mini variant of LG G6 (currently being dubbed as LG Q6) and while the handset was tipped to retain the 18:9 aspect ratio from the G6, it was said to forego the dual camera setup at the back. Now, the company has reportedly started sending out invites for the launch event of the LG Q6 on July 11 in Poland.

The launch invite image, shared by Twitter user @grzdabek, LG has used the hashtag “#LGBarbeQ” to suggest the association of the LG Q6 and asked to save the date July 11.

If this inviting image was not enough, another invite Image shared by Twitter user @m__pisarski has clearly mentioned LG Q6.

While these invites do indicate that the LG Q6 will be unveiled in Poland next week, it is not clear if this will be the global launch of the smartphone as well. It is less likely but still possible that the company launches the smartphone globally before introducing it to Poland on July 11.

The LG Q6 also known as LG G6 mini suggest that the smartphone will sport a 5.4-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone is said to sport a single 13-megapixel rear camera and 3GB of RAM instead of a dual camera setup and 4GB RAM as in the case of LG G6.

LG G6 Mini to Launch as LG Q6 with Single Camera

LG G6 Mini to Launch as LG Q6 with Single Camera

Evan Blass, a well-known leakster has tweeted that the alleged LG G6 Mini could be launching as LG Q6. According to the tweet from the leakster, an LG phone with model number LG Q6 has been recently spotted on FCC with a model number of M700. He claims that the phone would be coming with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will be featuring a single camera of 13-megapixel and its chipset will be supported by 3 GB of RAM.

The tweet carries a link to a tweet from Jon Rettinger (@Jon4Lakers) that carries a link to an LG G6 Mini article that was published in April.

There is no confirmation on whether the LG Q6 phone would be coming with the same specs as the LG G6. Hence, there is a possibility that it could feature the Snapdragon 821 SoC that is present under the hood of the LG G6 or it may be fueled by a mid-range processor.

The images showing the rear side of the phone suggest that it would be coming with dual rear cameras like the LG G6. However, Blass claims it will be coming with a single shooter of 13-megapixel. The rear side of the alleged LG G6 also featured a “G6” name at the bottom part, but the tipster states that it would be arriving as LG Q6. The leaked images reveal that the bottom side of the phone features a USB Type-C port and the topside has a 3.5mm jack. On the left edge are the volume controllers and a Power key.

No Secondary Ticker Screen For LG V30

No Secondary Ticker Screen For LG V30

One of the distinguishing features of the LG V series flagship phones is it secondary screen. Fresh speculations suggest that the upcoming LG V30 may not feature the secondary ticker screen.

Although the secondary screen is a unique feature which sits above the main screen on LG V10 and LG V20 phones, it seems that it failed to impress the consumers. According to XDA Developers that claims to have received information from a “trusted source,” the South Korean company may ditch the secondary screen on the LG V30.

XDA’s report does not clearly mention whether LG would be ditching the ticker or the secondary screen feature entirely from its upcoming flagship.  LG is expected to switch to OLED panel for LG V30 in this year, the probable reason behind removing the secondary screen from LG V30 is that its display may carry support for 18:9 aspect ratio that was introduced on LG G6’s Full Vision Display.

There is a possibility that the tall screen that will be arriving on the LG V30 may have a section at the top to display the contents of the ticker screen.

The publication has further claimed that the Snapdragon 835 chipset will be powering the LG V30 along with 4 GB of RAM. It will be coming with a native storage of 64 GB. Previous reports have stated that it would be also available 6 GB RAM option. The upcoming flagship phablet from LG will also feature a microSD card slot.

As far as the launch date of LG V30 is concerned, it is speculated to get announced at the end of August. Also, it may get showcased at the IFA 2017 event that will be held between Sept. 1 to 6 in Berlin, Germany.
