The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a glossy glass back which is pretty attractive. Because of glass back, It can slip through your hands and the glass can break and you may need to knock service center. To avoid that, Xiaomi has released a new protective case on its Mijia crowdfunding platform.
The new case is made by Guildford which offers triple protection for the phone. Its scratch-proof brushed back provides a strong grip when you hold the phone in your hand and is also resistant to fingerprint smudges.
The Guildford Case is a mixture of TPU and PC and the inner side is lined with soft microfiber to prevent scratches. The corners of the case have an extra thickness to absorb shocks from falls.
The Guildford Case costs only $7 and is available in blue and black.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Will be Available In Four Colors From Tomorrow
Xiaomi Mi 6 was introduced in China on April 19 and the company had confirmed that it would be coming four colors. Few weeks after its launch, its Ceramic Edition was made available briefly. The other color variants of the Mi 6 would be going on sale tomorrow in the home country of China.
The four colors like Bright Black, Bright White, Bright Blue and Ceramic Black of the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be available for buying from July 18. These models will be priced at 2,499 Yuan (~$369). Xiaomi has not given any information on the number of units of each color variants of Mi 6 that will be available for buying tomorrow.
Xiaomi Mi 6 is one of the best-selling flagship phones of 2017. It will be the first smartphone to get the MIUI 9 update. A few days ago, a special edition of the phone called Xiaomi Mi 6 Jackie Chan Limited Edition with an autograph of the actor was introduced.
Xiaomi Mi 6 is available with a screen size of 5.15 inches that supports full HD resolution. It is fueled by Snapdragon 835 and 6 GB of RAM. It comes in storage models like 64 GB and 128 GB. It has a 12-megapixel dual rear camera system and an 8-megapixel frontal camera. The 3,350mAh battery is enabled with Quick Charge 3.0 support
We have seen a lot of rumors and leaks of the upcoming major update to the Xiaomi’s custom MIUI. The new version called MIUI 9 has been in development for nearly a year and is rumored to launch next month. Today, we have some screenshots courtesy of Androidhitsthat reveals some additional details about MIUI 9. The image shows a screenshot of the about section of the phone.
It shows MIUI 220.127.116.11 and not MIUI 9. The version number is the alpha build of MIUI 9. The “About Phone” section now wears a new look. The specification details such as the screen size, resolution, battery capacity and CPU have been given icons.
The below image is a screenshot of the recent apps menu. The main addition there is the split-screen icon at the top left corner. Split-screen multitasking is now a default in Android Nougat but Xiaomi has added it to MIUI 9. Reports say it will be available to devices running Marshmallow that get the MIUI 9 update.
Split-screen multi-tasking allows you to run two apps simultaneously. It is better appreciated if you use a large screen device.
MIUI 9 is expected to launch before August 19 and debut on the Mi 6.
Xiaomi New Phone With 6GB of RAM and 4000mAh Battery Launching on July 11
Xiaomi has a new device set for launch on Monday, 11th of July and we are really excited about it. The official Weibo account for Xiaomi’s Store had released a new poster teasing the device by releasing a key detail. That key spec is the RAM which is a massive 6GB.
This isn’t Xiaomi’s first phone with 6GB of RAM. The Mi 5s Plus, Mi Note 2, Mi MIX and Mi 6 all come with that amount of RAM. However, we are still excited because Xiaomi is advertising it as a big deal for this mysterious device.
According to the source the processor belongs to the Snapdragon 800 series, storage is UFS and RAM is DDR4. It also says the phone has a 3D glass body and the display is large. Next bit of info is the battery which comes in at 4000mAh and the camera which is 22MP can record 4K and has a smart beauty mode. A USB Type-C port with support for Quick Charge, an IR blaster, and NFC.
According to above-mentioned specifications, we can believe that this is the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus.
Xiaomi has announced a Jackie Chan Limited Edition of its latest Snapdragon 835 powered flagship – Xiaomi Mi 6. The new Mi 6 Jackie Chan Limited edition is released to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Jackie Chan stunt team.The new Edition of Xiaomi’s best smartphone yet is meant to pay tribute to a legendary martial arts actor.
Jackie Chan is a well-known celebrity actor popular all over the world. He was awarded an honorary Oscars for his works over the years in November last year.
The new Mi 6 edition has a unique gift box which is designed with Jackie’s autograph at the front. The Mi 6 wasn’t unboxed for us to see if the autograph is also stamped on the back of the Mi 6 itself but a group photo of Jackie Chan and his entire stunt team has the “Shot on Mi 6” watermark.
The configuration isn’t revealed but the new edition could have the same specs as the Mi 6 as well, with perhaps, a Jackie Chan themed set of wallpapers onboard.
After the release of Mi 6, rumors claimed that Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus has been canceled and the next flagship from the company would be the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 that will launch in September. Now, a leaked image showing the rear panel of the Mi 6 Plus phone and also rumors that the larger Mi 6 would be arriving in the near future.
Industry analyst Pan Jiutang had speculated that the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus would be launching around two months after the release of Mi 6. Jiutang had even blamed the Galaxy S8 for the postponing of the launch of Mi 6 Plus.
The leaked image shows a similar design that is available on Xiaomi Mi 6.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus would be coming with a 5.7-inch screen that will carry support for full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. It is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 835. It is expected to come with identical specs that are available on the smaller Mi 6. Hence, it is expected to come with 6 GB RAM, 64 GB / 128 GB storage, MIUI 8 flavored Android 7.1.1 Nougat and 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual rear cameras. It is rumored to come with a bigger battery of 4,500mAh capacity.
There is no information regarding the official release of the Mi6 Plus.
