Nokia 5 Nokia 6 Latest March Security Update Released
Recently HMD Global released Android Oreo Updates. Now after Oreo Update HMD Global start releasing latest March Android Security Patch updare for the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. The update comes just a couple of days after Google started the rollout of the latest Android security patch for eligible Pixel and Nexus devices.
According to report the update is around 132MB in size and is being rolled out in batches. This new update will fix a critical security vulnerability in Media framework that could enable a remote attacker using a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code within the context of a privileged process.
You can check the update by going to Settings and searching system updates and then by checking for the update.
Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 both were launched with Android Nougat out-of-the-box and received Android Oreo update in January. Recently the company started rolling out Android Oreo beta for its Nokia 3.
HMD Global slashed the price of its Nokia 6 3GB RAM model in India. The phone was launched in India in June last year. The Nokia 6 is an affordable device. The company has launched its successor Nokia 6 2018 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month.
Let’s take a look at the specifications of Nokia 6 3GB-
The Nokia 6 features 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution of a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass protection. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor.
The phone comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera sensor, both have a f/2.0 aperture lens. The device packs with 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. The Nokia 6 was launched with Android Nougat but the phone received Android Oreo update earlier this year.
The device features 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A fingerprint sensor is placed in front, the device comes with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos audio support and includes a 3000mAh battery.
The price dropped of about Rs. 1,500 on the Nokia 6 3GB RAM after launching of Nokia 6 2018. But it is not clear whether the price cut is permanent or temporary. If you are planning on purchasing of Nokia 6, it’s a great deal. It was launched in India in June last year for Rs. 14,999, and now available for purchase at Rs. 13,499 through Amazon India.

The Nokia brand is getting success in this competitive market for their quality products and also got global followership. A recent report states that Nokia smartphones, Nokia 1, 6(2018) and 7 Plus may launch in Q2 of this year.
Now, HMD confirms that the Nokia 6(2018) is coming this May. In a recent interview, Sarvikas also commented on the company’s decision to not go for carrier partners for their phones. “The trend is that the open market is growing,” he said. “If you look at this US open market, this midtier is where you have a lot of people purchasing their device,” adding the new Nokia 6 is a good proposition for this market.
The Nokia 6(2018) with the cool design was announced in MWC 2018.
Here are key specifications of NOKIA 6(2018)- The device comes with a 5.5-inch 2.5D display with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. It features Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, having a pixel density of 401ppi. It is powered by Snapdragon 630 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, along with 4GB RAM. The phone comes in two variants — 32GB and 64GB. The users can also expand the storage of the phone by using microSD card.
The Nokia 6(2018) has a 16-megapixel camera on the back which has f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED flash. The phone also features an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a 1.12um sensor and f/2.0 aperture for taking selfie and video calling. For security, a fingerprint sensor has been placed on the back panel.
The device features Android Oreo OS and house pack of a 3000mAh non-removal battery. The Nokia 6(2018) will available in three color options-Black/Copper, White/Iron, and Blue/Gold.
Nokia’s 2017 Smartphones List and Their Processors
In January, a leaked slide had revealed that Nokia would be launching six to seven smartphones this year. A Chinese leakster who holds a consistent track record about many leaks related to Nokia in the past has revealed that Nokia will be releasing 7 smartphones this year. Not only this, he has mentioned the list of 7 Nokia smartphones for 2017 along with the processor that will be powering each one of them.
The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 that was unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017. These phones are respectively powered by MediaTek MT6737 and Snapdragon 430. The remaining four smartphones that are slated to launch in the second half of 2017 are Nokia 2, Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9.
According to the Chinese leakster, Nokia 2 will be available in Snapdragon 212 and a MediaTek processor. It indicates that Nokia 2 will be an entry-level smartphone. Some of the regions will be receiving its Snapdragon edition whereas other regions will be getting its low-end MediaTek processor version.
The Nokia 7 will be driven by Snapdragon 630 chipset and the Nokia 8 would be a more powerful smartphone as the Snapdragon 660 chip will be giving power to it. Previous leaks have revealed that the Nokia 7 would be coming with a single rear camera but the Nokia 8 would be equipped with a dual rear camera system from Zeiss.
An unknown Nokia phone had appeared on AnTuTu with Snapdragon 660 could be the Nokia 8 smartphone. The AnTuTu listing revealed that it would be equipped with a 2K screen, 6 GB of RAM, a native storage of 64 GB, a pair 12-megapxiel rear camera sensors and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The Nokia 7 may feature a full HD display.
Nokia 9 is expected to come with a 5.3-inch QHD display, 13-megapixel dual rear cameras, and 8 GB RAM and it is expected to be launch with a price tag of $699.

Nokia 9 Case Images Leak, Reveals Phone Design and Camera Placement
HMD Global unveiling its flagship device, the Nokia 9. We have seen the device appear on benchmarking sites and even live images although wrapped up in a case. It is said to have even gotten its FCC certification. Now images of cases for the Nokia 9 appears online and they do reveal a number of features.
There is a cut-out for dual cameras at the back in a vertical position and that’s about all there is to the rear. The case shows the power button and volume rocker will be on the right and the audio jack will be at the top.
The bottom of the phone is where the USB type-C port and primary microphone are placed. There is a single cut-out flanking the charging port on the left and that is definitely for the speakers.
The Nokia 9 will come with stereo speakers just like the Nokia 6. The Nokia 6 has its speakers on one side and it appears HMD is using the same design for the Nokia 9. The case also reveals the phone will come with rounded corners.
The Nokia 9 is expected to launch with a 5.3-inch QHD display with Gorilla Glass 5, the Snapdragon 835 mobile platform and 6GB or 8GB of RAM. It will have a 13MP rear camera in front and one of the sensors on the back will also be a 13MP sensor. Storage is 64GB with support for expansion.
Nokia 6 Pre-orders Have Started in U.S. Releasing on July 10
In the previous week, the Finnish firm had confirmed that the Nokia 6 would be coming to U.S. in early July. The shipping date of the Black and Silver editions of the Nokia 6 is mentioned as July 10 on Amazon. The retail giant will be also selling the Copper variant in the next month.
On Amazon, the Silver variant is listed as Standard Version which does not include any offers or ads from the retailer. The handset is priced at $229. Even though the Nokia 6 was introduced in 32 GB and 64 GB models, Amazon is selling only the 32 GB version of the phone.
In China’s JD.com, the 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM model of Nokia 6 is currently selling for $250 and the 32 GB + 3 GB RAM model is available for 1,479 Yuan (~$218).
The Black variant of the phone is available in Standard Version (without offers & ads) and Prime Exclusive (with offers & ads). Both the color variants are available on pre-orders on Amazon. The retailer is selling unlocked version of Nokia 6 which means the phone will only support GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile. It won’t be supporting other networks such as Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular. There is no confirmation on whether the Arte Black edition will be available in the U.S.
Nokia 6 comes with 5.5-inch FHD display and is powered by Snapdragon 430 SoC. It has a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. It is packed with 3,000 mAh battery. It is loaded with the stock edition of Android 7.1. Nougat and the Finnish firm has confirmed that it will be updated to Android 8.0 probably before the end of 2017.
The Amazon listing states the Copper variant will be hitting the U.S. markets in the next month. It will be available in two editions. There is no information on when the Standard Version of Copper Nokia 6 will be available in the U.S.
However, the Nokia 6 Copper Prime Exclusive model will be hitting the U.S. markets on August 18. The Prime Exclusive models come with $50 Amazon.com gift card for a paid Prime member. It effectively reduces the cost of the device to $179.
Hardware, Software Changes on International Nokia 6
HMD Global’s first Nokia phone running on Android is the Nokia 6. The smartphone was unveiled first in China. As promised, the Finnish company is working on making the Nokia 6in various markets across the globe. It has been found that the international edition of Nokia 6 is somewhat different from the Chinese version.
The Nokia 6 for China comes with 4 GB of RAM, but its international variant was confirmed in May to feature 3 GB of RAM. However, the letter that has been sent to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) by the Finnish company carries a list of hardware and software changes. One of the changes that can be seen on the international Nokia 6 is that it features 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage.

Four variants of the Nokia 6 will be released in the near future. These variants will carry the model numbers such as TA-1025, TA-1039, TA-1021 and TA-1033. As it can be seen in the table below, the TA-1039 and TA-1033 are single-SIM models whereas the TA-1035 and TA-1021 are dual-SIM models. All these models carry support for different WCDMA and LTE bands. Only, TA-1025 and TA-1039 support HAC.
As far as the U.S. launch of Nokia 6 is concerned, the smartphone will be made available early in the coming month. It will be available through Amazon with a price tag of $229. Since the U.S. will be getting the dual-SIM edition of Nokia 6, it will not be compatible with the CDMA networks of Sprint and Verizon. It carries partial support for AT&T 4G LTE bands. However, T-Mobile will fully support the Nokia 6.
