Honor officially confirms the launch date of their upcoming Honor 8X lineup smartphone. The company sets the launch date in China on September 5. The Huawei-owned brand will introduce two variants of the handset – Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max.

The upcoming smartphone is expected to come with a ‘waterdrop’ display notch. It looks like the “Waterdrop” will become a new trend for Android smartphone. Its key features are expected to be dual rear cameras, bigger batteries, and large displays. The Honor 8X will be a successor to the Honor 7X from October last year. The company announces the launch date of the smartphone on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo.

Unfortunately, currently, the company doesn’t show any interest to reveal more details of the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max. The teaser reveals only the smartphone will ‘surpass limits’, and will be ‘beyond imagination’. But the presence of the smartphone on a benchmarking site reveals some specifications.

Honor 8X, Honor 8X Max specifications

According to GeekBench, the 8X model will come with a Kirin 710 chipset. But Master Lu benchmark indicates that the device packs a Snapdragon 660 chipset. Since the device will be a flagship it will include AI super night mode, elevator mode, and GPU Turbo technology as well. There’s also an expectation that the device will come with an affordable price tag. All the specifications are expected to be same except display size.

The 8X may feature a 7.12-inch display (2244 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. While the 8X should be smaller in terms of the screen size but it may packs a 4,900mAh battery. It will come with 3C certification so it’ll definitely have an 18W fast charger.
