Nokia 3 Update Android 8.0 and Nokia 7 Plus gets Android 8.1

The Nokia 3 was launched last year with Android Nougat out of the box and the Nokia 7 Plus was released this year at MWC 2018 with Android Oreo. Now HMD Global has released new Android update for both devices.

The Nokia 3 has now received Android Oreo 8.1 stable update while the Nokia 7 Plus received Android Oreo 8.1. The Nokia 3 users will get notifications with good news soon, the update is rolling out today via over the air.

Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, Juho Sarvikas has twitted this good news for Nokia lovers with text and #hashtag on their official twitter account —“You asked, we listened. Android 8.0 Oreo™ drops for today.”

On the other hand the Nokia 7 plus also received Android 8.1 Oreo update. The Gizmochina has mentioned that the update for Nokia 7 plus is 590MB in size and brings along April’s security patch. The new update brings some new features for Nokia 7 Plus such as battery saving navigation buttons, a revamped power menu, new setting menu, and Bluetooth battery percentage.

The Nokia 7 Plus features a 6-inch full-HD+ IPS display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 256GB.

It has rear camera setup of a 12-megapixel wide-angle as a primary camera with a f/1.75 aperture, and 1.4-micron pixels, and a 13-megapixel camera as a secondary sensor with a f/2.6 aperture, 1-micron pixels, and 2x optical zoom. The dual camera setup is coupled with a dual-tone LED flash and Zeiss optic. There is also a 16-megapixel fixed focus front camera with a f/2.0 aperture, 1-micron pixels, and Zeiss optics.
