Qualcomm has announced its new Snapdragon 670 chipset. The new SoC is the successor of Snapdragon 660 chipset. The new Snapdragon 670 SoC comes with a lot of improvements such as better camera and smart AI.
Snapdragon 670 SoC features
The Snapdragon 670 chipset is built on 10nm LPP process technology. It has eight cores, two performance cores are clocked at up to 2.0GHz, while the other six efficiency cores are clocked at up to 1.7GHz.
The new SD670 SoC has an Adreno 615 GPU which is less powerful than the SD710’s Adreno 616 GPU. But it offers up to 15% higher CPU performance and up to 25%, faster graphics rendering compared to the Snapdragon 660.
Qualcomm says, “it has 3rd generation AI Engine, designed to deliver up to 1.8x AI performance than available in the previous generation”.
The Snapdragon 670 supports FHD+ max resolution. It also includes Hexagon 685 DSP and Spectra 250 ISP. The new 670 SoC supports up to a 25MP single camera and 16MP dual cameras. An SD670 Soc powered smartphone will be able to record Ultra HD (4K) Video with 30% less power consumption.
The SD670 provides faster LTE connectivity, it comes with the X12 LTE Modem. So, it has up to 600Mbps of download speed and upload speeds of up to 150Mbps. The SD670 also supports Dual SIM Dual VoLTE (DSDV). The X12 has also support for automatic switching between LTE and Wi-Fi, depending on the strongest signal quality and highest speeds at the time.
