OnePlus Ace 7 Pro First Look Leaks: Two-Tone Finish, Redesigned Square Camera Island, and Periscope Telephoto Revealed

After benchmark listings and regulatory certifications confirmed its core silicon credentials earlier this week, OnePlus appears ready to showcase a radical aesthetic overhaul for its performance line. The first real-world leaked image of the upcoming OnePlus Ace 7 Pro has surfaced on Weibo, offering an unobstructed look at the smartphone’s updated chassis, camera island, and rear finishes.

The leaked visual-shared in an upscaled format-reveals that OnePlus is abandoning the circular camera module that defined the brand’s flagships over recent generations. Instead, the Ace 7 Pro adopts an aggressive, gaming-inspired industrial design anchored by an asymmetrical squircle camera island, prominent vertical “ACE” typography, and a two-tone copper-and-silver gradient finish.

Coupled with recent hardware disclosures pointing to an internal dual-airflow cooling fan, a 6.78-inch 185Hz display, and a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, the design leak solidifies the Ace 7 Pro’s identity as a dedicated performance device.

Radical Design Departure: The Squircle Camera Module

The most striking visual element revealed in the leak is the complete transformation of the rear camera plateau:

• Raised Metallic Island: Moving away from the watch-dial circular housing seen on the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 16, the Ace 7 Pro places its camera assembly in the upper-left corner within an elevated metal plate featuring rounded corners.
• Periscope Lens Geometry: Inside the camera island, the layout consists of a tall, dark pill-shaped cutout positioned beside a smaller circular aperture and a stylized circular accent ring. The vertical pill shape accommodates the internal prism rails of a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, tipped to deliver 3.5x optical zoom.
• Exterior Flash Placement: The dual-tone LED flash module has been moved outside the raised metal boundary, sitting directly flush on the glass backplate to maintain clean internal spacing for the camera lenses.

Two-Tone Aesthetics and Typographic Branding

OnePlus is embracing a bolder, e-sports-inspired design language with the Ace 7 Pro’s colorways and surface finishes:

• Silver-to-Copper Gradient: The primary colorway shown in the leak features an expressive two-tone transition. The top portion of the matte backplate starts in a polished metallic silver before gradually fading into a warm, saturated copper-orange toward the lower half.
• Frosted Ice Blue: A second variant displays a clean, cool light blue tone treated with a frosted, fine-grained brushed texture designed to resist hand perspiration and fingerprint smudging.
• Prominent “ACE” Lettering: Both units feature oversized, semi-translucent “ACE” branding running vertically along the right side of the rear panel, accompanied by the classic OnePlus numeric emblem. This typographic focus signals a clear separation between the enthusiast-oriented Ace lineup and the more conservative styling of OnePlus’s mainline number series.

Ergonomics and Flat-Edge Construction

The leak also highlights significant updates to the device’s physical chassis:

• Flat Metal Frame: The phone adopts flat aerospace-grade aluminum side rails with chamfered edge transitions, improving palm grip during horizontal landscape gaming.
• Integrated Cooling Channels: Along the upper frame, subtle micro-mesh vents support the rumored internal active cooling fan, drawing air across the processor compartment while maintaining high water-resistance ratings.
• Antenna Isolation: Fine dielectric antenna bands cut cleanly across the aluminum frame, indicating optimized 5G sub-6GHz and Wi-Fi 7 signal reception for competitive multiplayer stability.

Market Positioning and Launch Expectations

The visual reveal of the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro clarifies the company’s product segmentation ahead of its late-October showcase:

1. Distinct Identity from Flagship Slabs: Rather than functioning as a minor derivative of the upcoming OnePlus 16, the Ace 7 Pro embraces a distinct, gaming-forward visual style that differentiates it from conventional glass-sandwich flagships.
2. Accessible Periscope Telephoto: Bringing a 50MP 3.5x periscope lens into the performance-focused Ace tier positions the phone as a versatile imaging option for users who want competitive processing power alongside reliable zoom photography.
3. Official Launch Timeline: With official reservations already open on the OnePlus China store, the OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro are scheduled to debut in China later this month. The standard Ace 7 model is expected to make its international debut as the OnePlus 16R in early 2027.
