The company has effectively split the iPhone 18 generation into premium phones now and mainstream phones later. The standard iPhone 18, 18e and possible Air 2 are still future products, and their leaked specifications should remain firmly in the rumor category until Apple announces them.

For Indian buyers, the immediate reality is straightforward: the iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900 and the Pro Max at ₹1,79,900, with pre-orders beginning September 12 and sales starting September 18.

The rest of the iPhone 18 family will have to wait.

And this time, Apple appears to be perfectly happy making customers wait.
