Apple Unveils Apple TV 4K 4th Generation: A19 Chip, Hands-Free Siri AI with Far-Field Mics, and Find My Siri Remote Starting at $299

Four years after the arrival of its third-generation streaming box in late 2022, Apple has officially unveiled the Apple TV 4K 4th generation. Introduced under the banner of “Welcome Home”-Apple’s unified initiative for the connected living room-the upgraded entertainment hub transforms the set-top device into an AI-driven, hands-free smart home nerve center.

Starting at $299 in the United States and ₹39,900 in India for the unified 128GB Wi-Fi + Ethernet configuration, the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K features Apple’s flagship A19 processor, a dedicated hardware AV1 video decoder, a built-in three-microphone far-field array for completely hands-free voice commands, an updated Siri Remote with Find My and Precision Finding, Wi-Fi 7 wireless networking, and expanded four-speaker HomePod surround sound capabilities. Pre-orders are live today, with retail shipments commencing globally on November 13, 2026.

A19 Silicon and Dedicated Hardware AV1 Video Decoder

The processing core of the new Apple TV 4K jumps from the older A15 Bionic directly to Apple’s latest A19 processor, unlocking significant gains for gaming, streaming efficiency, and system responsiveness:

• Generational Compute Leap: The A19 architecture delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU compute compared to the third-generation model. Navigating dense media libraries, multitasking across apps, and switching user profiles occurs with zero perceptible delay.
• Console-Caliber Apple Arcade Gaming: With hardware-accelerated ray tracing and expanded graphics memory bandwidth, the device handles demanding Apple Arcade titles and console ports at fluid 60FPS frame rates in native 4K.
• Hardware AV1 Decoding: For the first time in an Apple TV, the A19 silicon integrates a dedicated AV1 hardware decoder. This enables more efficient, higher-bitrate 4K streaming while consuming significantly less network bandwidth on supported platforms such as YouTube, Netflix, and Apple TV+.
• Expanded HDR Standards: Maintains comprehensive support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG at up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.

Hands-Free Siri AI via Built-In Far-Field Microphones

The primary usability upgrade in the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K is the transition to ambient, remote-free control:

• Integrated Three-Microphone Far-Field Array: Built directly into the front chassis of the set-top box are three beamforming far-field microphones. Users can issue voice queries from across the living room without needing to reach for or hold the remote control.
• Conversational Siri AI with Apple Intelligence: Leveraging Apple Intelligence models running directly on the A19 Neural Engine, Siri AI offers contextual movie discovery and conversational recommendations. Viewers can ask multi-step, contextual questions-such as “Find that mystery thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve where the detectives investigate an abduction”-and receive immediate suggestions.
• Compact Non-Intrusive Overlays: When querying Siri during active playback, answers, cast biographies, and sports score updates are displayed in a compact contextual card at the bottom of the screen, ensuring active video playback remains uninterrupted.

Updated Siri Remote: Precision Finding & Built-in Speaker

Addressing one of the most frequent consumer complaints regarding living-room remotes, Apple has overhauled the Siri Remote’s tracking capabilities:

• Find My Integration with Precision Finding: The updated aluminum Siri Remote now houses an integrated Ultra-Wideband (UWB) locating chip and Apple’s Find My tracking framework. If the remote slips between sofa cushions or into another room, users can track its precise direction and distance directly on an iPhone.
• Built-In Acoustic Beeper: The remote incorporates a miniature internal acoustic speaker that plays an audible locating chime when triggered through the Find My app on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
• Familiar Aluminum Ergonomics: Retains the touch-enabled clickpad, tactile mute/power controls, dedicated TV/Home button, and universal USB-C charging port.

4-HomePod Spatial Audio & Wi-Fi 7 Smart Home Hub

Beyond visual streaming, the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K expands its capabilities across home theater audio and connected IoT ecosystems:

• Four-HomePod Quad Surround Sound: Users can now wirelessly pair up to four HomePod (2nd generation) or HomePod mini 2 speakers directly to the Apple TV 4K. The system utilizes automated room calibration to deliver a discrete quad-channel Dolby Atmos surround sound stage without requiring traditional speaker wiring or external AV receivers.
• Wi-Fi 7 & Gigabit Ethernet: Supports multi-gigabit Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with Multi-Link Operation (MLO) for ultra-low latency wireless streaming, alongside a physical Gigabit Ethernet port for rock-solid wired local network integration.
• Matter & Thread Border Router: Functions as an always-on Apple Home Hub, featuring built-in Thread mesh radio and Matter support to route home automation accessories, cameras, smart locks, and sensor networks across the household.
