HTC U11 Launched, World’s Best Camera Phone
HTC U11 smartphone was launched in May 2017. Instead of a traditional button, there’s a pressure-sensitive zone on the U11’s side, which can launch different apps by way of a “short squeeze” or a “squeeze and hold”.
The phone’s user interface – Edge Sense — has been redesigned from scratch to allow for a pressure-sensitive outer frame that allows users to specific tasks simply by squeezing it. The phone comes with as many as three virtual assistants – Google Assistant, Amazon’s Alexa and HTC’s own Sense Companion – under the hood and 360 degrees live audio recording. The phone is also IP67 certified for splash resistance.
The phone comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1440 pixels by 2560 pixels.
The U11 sports a 12-megapixel f/1.7 camera with 1.4-micron pixel, ultra-spread autofocus, optical image stabilisation (OIS) for 4K video recording, and a back-side illuminated (BSI) sensor that increases low-light performance. On the front, you get a 16-megapixel front camera with BSI sensor, and full-HD video recording. On the front, you get a 16-megapixel front camera with BSI sensor, and full-HD video recording.
The HTC U11 is powered by 2.45GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 2000GB via a microSD card.
The HTC U11 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
The HTC U11 runs Android 7.1 and is powered by a 3000mAh non removable battery.
There’s no headphone jack though, sadly, and no word on an India release yet. It’s up for pre-order in the US at $749 (roughly Rs. 48,000) on Amazon.
