After a long time, Meizu has launched its new smartphones Meizu 15, Meizu 15 Plus and Meizu M15. At present notched-display is a trend for smartphones, but interestingly Meizu has skipped 18:9 aspect ratio trend and launched these smartphones with traditional design display with 16:9 aspect ratio. Basically, Meizu proved that traditional design is still cool.
Meizu has redesigned the home key of the smartphone and called it mBack button. It is shaped like a circle and comes with an embedded fingerprint scanner and also can be used for navigation. The design of the phones is cool. Its top bezel features a front-facing camera. Above the camera is a thin slit between the glass and the frame features the earpiece.
The Meizu 15 also features face unlock and the antenna lines on the back are designed like Aztec that also gives a fantastic look. The Meizu 15 comes only in blue color while Meizu 15 Plus comes in gold, black, and a white version.
Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus specifications
The Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus comes with a 5.46” FHD and 5.95” 2K display respectively. Gizmochina wrote that both devices come with Samsung’s Super AMOLED screens and the company had paid millions of dollars to made into those custom sizes.
The Meizu 15 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of native storage. Whereas the Plus variant comes with Samsung’s Exynos 8895 processor and coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage.
Both the smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup —a 12MP Sony IMX380 1.55um sensor as a primary camera and a 20MP Sony IMX350 wide-angle sensor for 3x lossless zoom as a secondary camera. The camera also features 4-axis optical image stabilization combined with Rainbow’s multi-frame synthesis technology for superior low-light images. The camera also includes some extra features such as smart scene recognition and panorama mode. There’s also a 20MP front camera with 4-in-1 synthetic pixels, smart AI beauty mode, and portrait mode.
The Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus also feature stereo speakers. The home button also works as a fingerprint scanner is pressure sensitive. It uses a dedicated pressure-sensitive chip that works with a new technology called mEngine to provide haptic feedback.
These smartphones feature a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a speaker grille at the bottom. The Meizu 15 is fueled by a 3000mAh battery whereas the Meizu 15 Plus has a 3500mAh battery, both support Meizu’s 24W mCharge fast charging technology.
Both smartphones will be available on JD.com, Suning, and Meizu’s official site on April 29. The Meizu 15 is priced at ¥2499 for the 4GB RAM+64GB storage model and ¥2799 for the 4GB RAM+128GB storage model. The Meizu 15 Plus is with 6GB RAM+64GB storage is priced at ¥2999 and the 6GB RAM+128GB storage model is priced at ¥3299.
Meizu M15 specifications
The Meizu M15 which is also known as Meizu 15 Lite, features 5.46” size LCD display with a 1080p resolution. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 626 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of native storage.
The phone features a 20MP front-facing camera and a 12MP rear camera with a 6 LEDs ring flash. The device comes with a 3,000mAh battery and also supports fast charging.
The Meizu M15 is priced at ¥1699 will go on sale on April 29. The phone comes in white, black, and red color variant.
