Samsung launched its flagship Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona last month. Now, Samsung is going to launch both flagships in India.
The launch event is scheduled on 6th March in New Delhi. The Company has already sent out media invites for the launch event. The launch event will start at 11:30 AM IST and will be live-streamed on the company’s official website.
Samsung India store had already started pre-bookings for both — Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. To successfully pre-order, you’ll have to pay Rs. 2,000 (approx. $31) as the advance payment and you’ll get a discount coupon of the same value. Globally, the devices will start shipping from 16th March and the same date is expected for India also.
If we revive the specification of these flagships- the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ respectively come with a 5.8-inch and a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display that supports QHD+ resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels. Both phones are powered by Snapdragon 845 processor in North America and China and for rest of the world, these flagships will be powered by Exynos 9810 chipset.
In India, both devices will be fueled by company’s own Exynos 9810 processor and will be running Android Oreo operating system out-of-the-box with TouchWiz custom interface.
The Galaxy S9 starts from $720 in the US, approximately Rs 47,000, while the Galaxy S9+ starts from $840, which is approximately Rs 54,000. Unfortunately, the pricing of the devices in India is still unknown.
